Who we are
The Sagest Companion (the "app") is a voice-first companion that helps you pause, breathe and settle your mind. It is operated by STIMZ IT Consultancy Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. The Sagest Companion is a self-care tool, not medical care or a crisis service.
Only summaries are stored
We keep short summaries and mood patterns. The full text of your conversations with the companion is never stored on our servers.
What we collect
Account: your email address, the name you gave at sign-up, and a password that is handled by our secure sign-in provider (we cannot see it).
Settings: your theme, voice, reminder and memory preferences.
Mood check-ins: the mood level you pick and, if you add one, a short note.
Session summaries: after a conversation, a short title and recap, the date, the kind of content that was suggested, and a marker if the session involved a safety concern.
Suggested content: which meditation, story, affirmation, sound or music was suggested to you, and your rating if you give one.
Plan and usage: whether you are on a trial or a paid plan, when your trial ends, and how many companion replies you used each day, so we can apply the daily limit for your plan. Payment details, if you subscribe, are handled by the app store and are never seen by us.
Safety events: see "If you may be in crisis" below.
Your messages and voice
To reply, the text of your message (and, within the same conversation, your recent messages for context) is sent to our servers and on to a third-party AI service (currently Google) that writes the response. If voice replies are on, the reply text is sent to a text-to-speech service (currently Google Cloud) to produce the audio. We do not keep your messages after the reply is made. How those providers handle data is governed by their own terms.
When you speak to the app, your phone's built-in speech recognition turns your voice into text. That service is provided by your device maker (for example Google on Android or Apple on iPhone) and may process your audio under their terms. The app asks for microphone permission for this, and you can turn it off in your phone settings and type instead.
Remembering past conversations
If "Remember past conversations" is on in Settings, short summaries of your most recent sessions (up to the last ten) are shared with the AI service as background, so the companion can follow up on what you have talked about. Sessions that involved a safety concern are reduced to a generic line, without details. Turn the setting off, or delete your conversation history, and those summaries are no longer used.
If you may be in crisis
If a message suggests you may be at risk of harming yourself, the app shows support resources for your region (based on your phone's region, or the country you choose). We record only that this happened: your account, the region of the resources shown, and the time. We never record what you wrote. This record is kept to confirm the safety feature works and is not shown back in the app. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number.
How we use information
To run the app and reply to you; to remember your settings; to show your history and mood patterns; to suggest content that may help and learn which suggestions people find useful; to keep you safe; and to keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your information, and the app has no advertising and no third-party analytics tools.
Service providers
We use Supabase to host the database, sign-in and server functions, and Google for the AI replies and text-to-speech described above, and for sending sign-up and password-reset emails. They process information for us to provide the service. We do not share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it.
On your device
The app stores a few small items on your phone: whether you have seen the intro, and the country you picked for support resources. The daily check-in reminder, if you turn it on, is a notification scheduled by your phone.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
Session summaries are kept until you delete them (Settings > Data & Privacy > Conversation history) or your account is deleted. Mood check-ins, settings, suggested-content records and safety events are kept until your account is deleted.
You can delete your account in the app (Settings > Data & Privacy > Delete account). It is then scheduled for deletion and you are signed out. For 30 days you can sign back in and restore it; during that time your data is kept but not used. After 30 days the account and all data linked to it are permanently deleted. You can also email us at the address below with a question or a deletion request.
Security
We use measures such as encrypted connections and access rules that let each account read only its own data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can change your settings at any time, turn off remembered conversations, delete your conversation history, and decline microphone access. Depending on where you live, privacy laws (such as Canada's PIPEDA or the EU GDPR) may also give you the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to withdraw consent. Email us and we will help.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date above. For significant changes we will let you know in the app.
